Original Compositions for Band

Bandsmen of the West - A quick 6/8 march in traditional American march form, dedicated to the band musicians, military and civilian, with whom I have enjoyed many wonderful musical experiences. The premier was performed and recorded in 2009 by the Sierra Nevada Winds of Placer County, California.

Over the Break  - This beginning-intermediate band warm-up is intended to provide young clarinetists with additional practice moving between the chalumeau and clarion registers while the rest of the band is supporting them. Level 1+ to 2

A Whimsical Rondo - A lighter-hearted piece in a loosely structured rondo form. For effect the piece features various percussion "toys"; i.e. temple blocks and vibraslap, and reflects a strong Leroy Anderson influence.

Final Voyage Overture - This full length, 11 minute work is built on three prominent themes, and travels dramatically through numerous mood changes. It is technically challenging; upper woodwind technical passages, brass upper range, frequent timpani retuning (tuning cues are shown in the part). The double bass part is important and should be included in any performance.
